Specialties | | We are a comprehensive Occupational Medicine facility.
Services include:
Prompt treatment and MANAGEMENT of work-related injuries and illnesses, Physical exams to meet the employer's needs for example: DOT, Pre-placement, Medical surveillance, OSHA compliance evaluations, Fitness for duty, respiratory certification.
Other services: pulmonary function testing, audiograms, EKG, Drug screening, breath alcohol testing.
Consultations with employers regarding all Occupational Health issues.

I am very excited to announce that Dr. Gerard deGuzman has passed his board examination to become board certified as a specialist in Occupational Medicine. There are only about 3,000 physicians board certified in Occ Med in the U.S. There are only 3 in Roanoke. I am very pleased to be able to say that 2 of those three are with us at Valley Occupational Medicine. He also holds an MPH degree and completed his residency in Occupational Medicine in June 2005. He is also board certified in Family Practice and has 5 years of experience as a physician in the U.S. Navy. With Dr. deGuzman's help we will be able to meet the increasing needs of our growing business community. | | We now have 2 office locations.
Our first location is at the corner of Orange and Kimball Ave in Roanoke. Dr. Powledge and Dr. Castern are the primary providers at this location.
The new office is located at 2131 Apperson Drive in Salem. Dr. deGuzman is the primary provider at this location. Dr. Powledge is also in this office a few hours a week.
